older man dates a younger woman, but what about a middle-aged woman
and a younger man? Paula Ebben shows us how this emerging trend is
finally gaining acceptance.

and younger men...is it a celebrity fad or is it art imitating real
life??
Here in Boston...the phenomenon is catching
on.

“We’ve now
started to get requests from women saying that they wanted to meet
younger men."
At a recent "8-minute-dating" event we found
some middle-aged women and some much younger men looking for
love.
Carol Cox, 46-years-old:
"When I was younger I dated
older men and now that I’m older I’d like to date younger
men"
46-year-old Carol Cox is seeking a serious companion.
But that's not all...
Cox:
"There's no sense in lying
about it, I'm defintely into physical attraction."
For
decades, women who took up with younger men were met with
disparaging labels like "Mrs. Robinson."
Susan Winter, Author
of “Older Women, Younger Men”:
"... I lost the support of my
community...that was a painful journey."
But dating expert
and author Susan Winter says that's ancient
history.
Winter:
"I think what were looking at is one of
the final frontiers in female emancipation…we find more in common
with young men who can accept our power."
In fact, according
to a recent study-- 34 percent of women aged 40 and over are dating
younger men.
So what's in it for 26-year-old Jason
Santos?
Jason Santos:
"I think it's just the fact that
they don't play games…I work a lot so if I’m going to meet a cool
girl I just want to get to the point. Don’t waste my time and I
won’t waste yours."
Whatever the attraction....wisdom, sex or
publicity....it's all the rage.
Winter:
"Oh and p.s. you
don't have to be a celebrity to do it."
But will it last?
Author Susan Winter says yes. After studying dozens of
relationships over several years she found the average couple stayed
together 16 years.
